enry J. Ableman\r\n\r\n\"Hank\"\r\n\r\nAGE: 73 • Wilmington\r\n\r\nHenry J. Ableman, age 73 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Christiana Hospital after a long illness.\r\nAfter graduating from Conrad High School, Hank joined the Army National Guard. He became a proud member of the Wilmington Fire Department in 1962, retiring in 1984 after 22 years of dedicated service. He then worked for WSFS and Hercules, retiring in 2001.\r\nHank was an assistant coach for the St. Thomas Girls CYO basketball team. He enjoyed many good days and many friends at the New Castle County Irish Society, where he served on the Board of Directors. He was a faithful member and usher at St. Thomas Church until his illness.\r\nHank was preceded in death by his son, Christopher in 2003; his parents, Samuel D. and Margaret (McCommons) Ableman; his brothers, Paul and Joseph Ableman; and his sister, Sr. Claire Ableman, OSB.\r\nHank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Arlene (Parisi); his daughters, Lori of Wilmington and Karen of Oakland, CA; and his cherished grandsons, Nathan and Brady. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Rose of Wilmington and Peggy Reeve of NC; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.\r\nHank was a kind and caring person. He loved being with his family and was most proud of his grandsons, Nathan and Brady.\r\n
